The Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) is a membership organization of science engagement institutions—especially science and technology centers and museums in North America and around the world that provide opportunities for lifelong learning about science and technology; connect science, technology, and society; engage diverse communities; and partner to tackle global and local challenges.
If your organization is passionate about increasing understanding of—and engagement with—science and technology among all people, ASTC is the community for you and your team members.
ASTC currently has two types of institutional membership, as described in the association’s bylaws.
Science Center and Museum Members
Nonprofit or public science centers or museums, nature centers, aquariums, planetariums, zoos, botanical gardens, space theaters, natural history museums, and children’s museums that share an interest in inquiry-based learning and participatory science education. Allied Members
Nonprofit or for-profit organizations that engage the public in science and share ASTC’s commitment to diversity, accessibility, inclusion, and equity, but that do not operate science centers or museums. Allied Members currently include companies and independent contractors; emerging science centers and museums not yet open to the public; foundations; scientific societies; community organizations; North American Federal, state, provincial, tribal, or local government agencies; and more.
